The City Gateway project is a unique residential development comprising nine apartment blocks, delivering 220 residential units along with commercial and retail spaces to enhance the local area.

The development, named "City Gateway" for its prominent role as an entry point into the City of Bristol, is situated near the Cumberland Basin and Ashton Gate Stadium. It offers picturesque views of the surrounding cityscape, including the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The ownership of these blocks is distributed among clients such as Vistry Partnerships and Clarion Housing Group. Project scheduling has been a critical factor, with the majority of blocks progressing concurrently to meet tight timelines.

BCL’s scope consists of the full groundworks and reinforced concrete package which includes the following:

  • Principle contractor for first 4 months

  • Foundations and ground floor slabs to all blocks

  • Reinforced concrete frame works to 7 podium slabs

  • Adoptable and non-adopted roads and footpaths

  • Mains foul and storm sewers

  • Private non-adopted parking

  • External works

BCL have been achieveing NHBC scores of 6's on this development and have been commented on the waterproofing detailing/reports provided in conjunction with Sika. The Clerk of the Works has also provided very positive feedback to BCL and our client Vistry Group.
