BCL were tasked with undertaking the full groundworks package including S278 works for two new adjoining schools in Bristol.

 

The new schools, which were procured through the Education & Skills Funding Agency’s national framework were named as Merchants Academy Primary and Venturers Academy, both part of Venturers Trust, sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol.

The buildings utilised off-site forms of manufacture for the superstructure, in line with Galliford Try’s Optimum Schools concept. This project followed on from the recent successful handovers of Kingsteignton and Westclyst Primary schools in Exeter, both of which were also undertaken by BCL for Galliford Try.
